KURT KURTTI
Founder/Principal
OVERVIEW
Kurt originally grew up in Chicago and attended the University of Illinois at Chicago Circle where he met his wife and started a family there raising two sons before relocating to California in 1997. Chicago is where Kurt got started in real estate development cutting his teeth on 400,000sf plus size power centers when power centers were all the rage. He has 25 and more years experience in real estate development with over 4.8 million square feet of new and existing retail shopping centers, community centers, and individual ground up buildings. He has administered over $450 million in project costs in the acquisition, entitlement, development, leasing, design, and construction of power centers, community centers, and individual retail developments. During his tenure of these developments, he has served on teams in Senior Management positions for several prominent real estate development firms and retailers including Red Mountain Retail Group, Kimco Developer’s Inc., Cousins Properties, Inc., Homart Development Company, and Dominick’s Finer Foods. Over the years Kurt has worked on retail tenant transactions with national and regional retail companies such as Target, Kohl’s, ALDI, Curacao, Numero Uno Markets, El Super Markets, Ross, Michael’s, Petco, Petsmart, Payless Shoes, McDonald’s, Chick fil A, Dutch Bros, Panda Express, Starbuck’s, Krispy Kreme, Dunkin Donuts, Perfect Teeth.
EXPERIENCE
Kurt is a real estate executive with the proven ability to manage all phases of development and redevelopment including: acquisition; repositioning; entitlements; municipal, public, and utility agencies processes and approvals; property due diligence; leasing; project financial analysis; managing and directing architects and engineers; overseeing the construction process; and the general development and project management of numerous commercial retail assets throughout the Midwest and Western United States. Currently Kurt is working on finding and acquiring real estate development opportunities throughout the western states including vacant land and existing retail shopping centers with various value add components. KTK is also an active consultant for developers and retailers alike to generate the highest and best returns for their investments.
ORGANIZATIONS
As a licensed California Real Estate Broker, Kurt serves on the Saddleback & Santiago Colleges Regional Real Estate Department Advisory Board. Professional memberships include the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC) and the Association of Corporate Real Estate Executives (ACRE).
